Licensure and IDHHC

Our state requires that all ASL - English interpreters be licensed by the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission. License levels help guide interpreters in selecting appropriate assignments, and help clients and consumers in selecting a qualified interpreter.

IDHHC also maintains a directory of all currently licensed interpreters.
