Hello. My name is Laura Kostomiris.
I am a Member at Large for the IRID Board of Directors. Today, I would like to tell you about a new program that IRID would like to implement called the Community of Practitioners. The Community of Practitioners is a monthly collaborative for working interpreters, CDI/DI, hearing interpreters, ITP students with a goal for all to connect and learn from each other. IRID will host meetings via Zoom to discuss different topics that are important to us as interpreters. The first month will be a brainstorming session for the upcoming months. I am here to facilitate the group, as well as learn from all of you. The more information I gather the more I can plan and gear it toward what we, as a Community of Practitioners would like to achieve. Some months I may be able to have a presenter join us and other months it will be us supporting each other with a discussion of different topics.
The first meeting starts Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 7pm. A Zoom link will be sent to all IRID members. If you are a non-member, please email me your address to member1@irid.org and a link will be sent for all of you to join. Thank you so much.
