CEUs at Home

We know that many websites offer pre-approved courses for ASL-English interpreters, with RID CEUs already set up. But many more online programs can be approved as PINRAs, or Participant Initiated Non-RID Activities.

If you are using this time to take one of these online courses and would like CEUs, follow these steps:

*Applications must be submitted and approved before you begin the course; this is RID’s requirement.

APPLY

Fill out the application here

PINRA Application

WAIT FOR APPROVAL

Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed to confirm that it meets the standards for educational activities. Wait to start your course until you receive an email that says you are good to go. Normally, we ask for applications to be submitted several weeks in advance of the start date to ensure time for review and approval. Under the current circumstances, we are working as fast as possible but please understand that it may take a few days to get confirmation.

TAKE YOUR COURSE
SEND PROOF OF COMPLETION

Once you have completed your course, please submit proof of participation to cmp@irid.org. Many online courses send a pdf certificate; this can simply be forwarded. Screenshots also work!

The board of IRID has decided to suspend all fees for processing CEUs for any Illinois interpreter until further notice.

We want to support our community in every way we can during this time.
