A Chicago suburb native, David has been interpreting since 1981, earning his CI and CT in 1988. He spent decades of his career both interpreting and working as an audiologist. He left audiology in 2023 to focus on interpreting only. He is a full time video interpreter for Sorenson Communications, and works with multiple local and national freelance agencies to provide interpreting services to consumers in the greater Chicagoland area. Interpreting experiences have been broad, ranging from post-secondary educational to community medical as well as legal and performance. This past year he has just started doing some occasional VRI from home. His service to the Illinois interpreting community included being president of the (former) Central Illinois Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf when that subchapter hosted the Illinois RID state conference in 2001. He holds a B.A. in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education and an M.S. in Audiology from Illinois State University. He earned his Au.D. in Audiology from University of Florida in 2005.
