Membership
Members of IRID receive discounts to IRID workshops as well as those provided by several other states within Region III. Members can have CEUs processed for non-workshop professional development at discounted, or free, rates.
Are you wanting to take the National Interpreter Certification test but need some financial assistance to help you get there? Members of IRID have access to scholarships designed to help defray the cost of national testing.
Members also receive information about IRID and events relevant to interpreters through our newsletter and web blasts.
Anyone wishing to vote on national RID issues is also required to maintain membership in their local affiliate chapter, like IRID. Those wishing to run for board positions and take a leadership role within IRID must show continuous membership to demonstrate that you are an active part of the community.
Voting Members
If you are a member in good standing of RID in a voting category, you are eligible to become a voting member of IRID. RID voting categories are Certified and Associate members.
You will be required to submit your RID membership number, and your voting privileges with IRID will not be active until we have confirmed your RID status. Confirming your RID status can take up to one week - please plan accordingly! All other benefits of membership begin immediately.

Student Members
Student members of IRID are currently enrolled in a ITP in Illinois. You will be required to provide information about your ITP enrollment, and membership benefits will not be active until your status as a student is confirmed. This confirmation can take up to one week - please plan accordingly! Student members are eligible for all membership benefits, except they may not vote on IRID business.

Ally Members
Ally members are those who support the mission of IRID but are not voting members of RID. We welcome members of the Deaf community, practicing interpreters who are not RID members, and others as allies. Ally members enjoy all the benefits of membership, except that they may not vote on IRID business.
$40 per year
Organizational Members
Following the example of RID, IRID memberships run on an annual cycle. All memberships begin on September 1st, and end on August 31st. We encourage all members to join or renew as early as possible to get the maximum benefits out of your membership year.
Members who join mid-cycle will be credited with membership backdated to the beginning of the current cycle, but there is no proration.
