Event Description

Columbia College Chicago and IRID are pleased to co-host the first ever state-wide ASL student conference. This is an opportunity for students and faculty from ASL and interpreting programs across Illinois to come together in beautiful downtown Chicago to attend workshops, enjoy entertainment, and socialize.

Join us at this two-day conference intended to build community, enhance ASL skill development, and help us Connect-Gather-Grow.

Schedule: December 3rd 10am-10pm & December 4th 10:30am-3:30pm.

Presenter

Workshops and activities will be run by faculty from ASL and interpreter education programs throughout Illinois. 

Audience

Current students and recent graduates from all ASL and interpreter education programs in the state of Illinois are invited to participate. The conference is designed to provide knowledge and skill development for all students from beginners to advanced ASL 2nd language learners through workshop participation.  

IRID promotes a learning environment free from discrimination and bias, and encourages mutual respect for all participants.

Accessibility

The conference will be conducted in ASL. Interpreters will be provided for the welcome ceremony and the Saturday night entertainment. Workshops will not be interpreted.

CEU Information

This conference is intended for students and will not provide any CEUs.
