Hosting a Workshop

If you are hosting a workshop, planning a conference, or sponsoring a training event, IRID can act as your CMP Sponsor.

Public events will be listed on RID’s database of workshops, and posted on IRID’s Facebook page. Private events like closed professional discussion groups follow the same process but won’t be advertised.

IRID is regularly audited by RID to ensure that the program requirements and procedures are consistently met for approved events Failure to pass this audit could result in IRID losing our status as a sponsor, or limiting our ability to approve future events. Please recognize this responsibility as we work together to gather all of the information necessary to approve your event.

Before the Event

All of these elements should be submitted as early as possible. We recommend that final applications be submitted at least 45 days before the event, or we may not be able to process your application.

  1. An organizer or host completes the Activity Plan
  2. The instructor completes the Instructor Form
  3. Flyers, websites, email blasts, or other advertisements must include all elements on RID’s list of required information. Advertisements must be approved by the sponsor BEFORE they are sent out. Send drafts to cmp@irid.org
  4. Submit payment. Organizational members of IRID can have any single event processed for $15. Other groups may have events processed for $40 per single event. Contact cmp@irid.org for multi session conference pricing.

For additional information about completing the Instructor Form, review this pdf: Instructor Form instructions.

    • The RID CMP, ACET, and IRID logos.  These files will be emailed by the sponsor.
    • The following paragraph:
IRID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities.  This [Professional/General] Studies program is offered for [#.#] CEUs at the [Knowledge Level] Content Knowledge Level
    • Information on the educational objectives of the activity. This information may take a variety of formats and depth of detail.
    • Information on the refund and cancellation policy of the event host. It is acceptable to print a link or internet address identifying contact information, applicable registration policies, and all other registration information rather than the entire policy.
    • The target audience, as described in the Activity Plan.
    • A statement soliciting requests for reasonable accommodations from potential participants.
    • A statement identifying the policies on non-discrimination and promoting an environment mutual respect and free from bias.

Recommended but not required:

    • “No partial CEUs will be awarded”

You may include the above information in any format that you like, but until the final version has been approved by your CMP Sponsor all advertisements must say “CEUs pending.”

At the Event

Participants must check out using IRID’s online form. This form replaces the paper Activity Report Form, and hosts will not need to collect or submit a second ARF. Only participants who complete the online checkout will be eligible for CEUs.

A link to the form will be sent to the organizer after all application paperwork is received and approved.

The check out form includes IRID’s default evaluation. Event organizers may substitute, or add questions to, the evaluation.

If you would like to use customized evaluation questions, please create a Google Form with all questions and answers. Share the form, with editing permissions, with cmp@irid.org at least 1 week before the workshop.

After the Event

IRID will generate and send certificates of attendance within one week of the event, to all participants who checked out on the day of the workshop. These certificates include the RID CMP, ACET, and IRID logos. If you would like the certificate to include your organization’s logo as well, please send a .png of the logo file to cmp@irid.org

Event organizers will be sent a summary of all evaluation responses within one week of the workshop.

RID members will see CEUs on their transcripts within 70 days.
